Ed from Carver HS...

Obama represents the best option for our future. The youth relate to the future! He's the choice for our voice the next eight years. Now maybe our country and our communities can grow up!

A vote for Obama is a vote for no more excuses from anybody. I think the US is ready for that.

We youth should be speaking up. The word's out about this blog at my school and growing. More should be calling this phone number to be a part of this debate. Once again, Carver leads the way but all else should follow.

Brian asserts..

I hate the fact that former President Carter is meddling in foreign policy for Barack. He's making it seem like a good idea by meeting with Hamas "for himself" when its really just political posturing for an Obama candidacy.

Jason asks...

I think Bill Clinton did play the race card. I think they had to though but it backfired.

Anonymous calls to add...

I think this phone number is a great vent line for this political debate. I'ts cool seeing your opinions posted for everyone to discuss.

Thanks

Devereux from Canton asks...

I have something to ask the younger community.
Most of you are voting in large margins for Obama. What has he proven to you outside of the fact that he's relatively young and can speak well. What issues have you used to base your opinion? I think he's popular and likeable too but are you smart enough to raise the right questions instead of just voting on your likes and dislikes?

The youth vote worries me greatly..

Get to know the issues before you make a choice. You may find you don't agree with the candidates beliefs as much as you thought you would.

Wayne G thinks...

McCain's looking for VPs while the democrats waste their lives on drama...
CONSERVATIVES RULE THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sheely says take Clinton for vice president

I think she can run the whitehouse from the VP position. He's too weak to stand up for himself anyway. Maybe she can protect him.

Obamaisunelectable blogger asserts that...

Obama Will Lose Worse Than Kerry

Folks,

I work as a precinct pollster for many congressman. I am an independent, this is why they trust my math, I tell people how it is. I admire both Senator Clinton as well as Senator Obama, and frankly, I admire John McCain. I understand that there are mostly democrats here and that's fine. However, I do not "hate" anybody. After all, you barely know any of these candidates so it is amusing to me when people "hate" someone. After all, when it comes to Senator Clinton, I admire her tenacity and frankly, I believe she is an incredible woman and a woman that has gotten closer to becoming President in the U.S. than any other woman. Senator Obama - I admire his story, his ability to speak about change in an honest manner. And John McCain, I admire his service to our country. After all, this man was a prisoner of war for four years when Barack was in diapers. If anyone knows about "Hope" or has the "Audacity", it is truly John McCain to survive a prisoner of war camp and return to his family and country. Here is the plain reality:

Barack is unelectable.

Why and how?He will lose by a greater margin than John Kerry. What you say? I'm Nuts! There is so much antipathy toward republican rule, there is so much antipathy towards the gas prices and such a distaste for President Bush, McCain is doomed right? Wrong.

Why is it that McCain and Barack are tied in national polls irrelevant of all this? Democrats are winning everywhere, except in the executive office. Why? Because Barack is the most liberal democratic candidate every put forward by the Democratic Party. After all, look at the precedent when a liberal senator from the north gets the nomination in recent history:

Dukakis - Loss.
Mondale - Loss.Kerry - Loss.
Gore - Can be Considered a liberal despite being from Tennessee - Loss (although I think he won)

Clinton - Arkansas - Moderate Democrat - Won.
Carter - Georgia - Moderate Democrat - Won.

It seems only the Democrats could screw up something this good. Of course, CNN, MSNBC and NBC are blatantly for Barack Obama, this is obvious in the news reporting.

But, any Democrat that is down by 10 points in Florida, down by 8 points in Ohio and actually down by 1 point in Michigan has the doors closed for the nomination.

Barack Fans: Tell me 1 State that Barack will win more than John Kerry. Just tell me 1. Can you? I don't think you can.

Thus, if this election repeats the same way as what happened to Kerry, as Kerry will barely will Pennsylvania but lose Florida and Ohio, 2 key battleground states, it's over. The same result as 2004. But, here is your shocker, Michigan Democrats are angry at their votes not being counted: Consequently, Michigan will go for John McCain as all polls indicate an upset and if Michigan goes Red, this race is Over, for any Democrat.

There is only 1 Democrat that can win the general election against McCain and who actually beats McCain in Florida, Hillary Clinton. Of course, I think Barack will get more national votes than Hillary, but electorally Hillary wins. Sure, Barack won't lose Georgia for example by 25 points like Hillary will, but he will STILL LOSE Georgia by 10 points - and Folks, this is not some sort of Caucus, this is Reality in the General Election: A Primary - Where he will likely struggle greatly.

In a Year that Democrats are supposed to Dominate, they pick the one candidate that is the most liberal Senator of 2007 and consequently will get trounced. Congrats Democrats, you screwed yourself over again.

The one quote that will haunt Barack: "I am confident I can get Senator Clinton's supporters, but I am not confident if she can get my supporters' votes". Really? Is this why 30% of Senator Clinton's supporters now claim they will vote for McCain and 14% say they are unsure. Thus, 44% of Senator Clinton's supporters say they won't vote for you while it is only 30% when your supporters are asked? Congrats Barack, your arrogance just got you pummeled in the General Election.

Real One asks...

I keep asking this in every blog but everybody is scared to touch it. Maybe somebody here is brave.

Who else believes that a tape of Obama exists that conservatives will drop as soon as Obama becomes the nominee? Who'll admit that the race would essentially be over if that happened? Why is everybody scared to acknowledge this?

Robert of Pine Lake states...

Who is Hillary fooling?

She's messed up with African Americans and she's is polarizing (even further) a race that's over. Now she's trying to position for VP.

I think she's lost it.

Melanie of Griffin, GA says...

Obama's the nominee. When will everyone get it? It's a matter of being able to add and count.

Real One of Decatur asks...

Why can't we see that Obama is NOT electable? Do your research on George McGovern and Michael Dukakis and you'll see the same set of circumstances and their landslide loses in the general election. Unfortunately you can't become the president with primarily the black and youth vote.

Obama's alienated the two groups that win elections and just happen to be the stumps from which Republican's stand, blue collar Americans and conservative Christians. The first group he called "bitter" the latter Reverend Wright is the polar opposite of.

What I wish we'd realize is that Obama, not the media; not Hillary Clinton; has dug himself into a general election hole trying to finish off Hillary Clinton. He made a calculated mistake by joining Trinity Church to get elected to the state Senate (a demographic he needed at the time) then not distancing himself before he decided to run for president.

These are mistakes HE MADE that will make it difficult to get elected in November. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the guy I just don't think he's presedential material.

Anonymous persons ask about....

Obama's Record?

I have gotten a lot of messages lately from people who are questioning Obama's record. Despite the constant jabs at Obama about his religious beliefs, one question that remains a mystery to the undecideds is whether or not Obama will be able to lead the country based on his experience alone. What are your thoughts?
